For my double page spread, I decided that I would need to find out what kinds of aspects that I should consider when writing my article and forming the pages:
These double page spreads have appeared in issues of Kerrang!, Mojo, NME and Q. These have great inspiration upon me. I feel that after viewing these, I should include some features like pull quotes in large letters in the middle of the text, large images and drop caps at the beginning of the text. Also, I would like to include some text wrap as in the first and second picture, which have been carefully wrapped around the pictures which have been cut out. After reading some of these articles, it gave me an idea on what I should improve on my double page spread article, and the type of language used. Some of the language used in these articles is colloquial, for example, featuring in the second double page spread: "you fucking whore" and "yeah". This interests the audience more than formal language as it is modern day language, and for some reason, the population of the world seem to love swearing as a whole. However, my article is going to be more about the girl's rise to becoming famous with a new single. I feel this will be interesting to my target audience as many young people will be interested how a young teen managed to reach the fame at such a young age.

Main Task - Contents First Draft
Time for my Contents page. Before creating my contents page, I made a plan of what sort of things could go in the contents. I looked through some NME and Kerrang! magazines for some insipration, of the main sort of things mentioned in the contents, and also how they are written. I included a 'Band Index' to carry on the rock genre of magazine. The features and news included names of bands which where not mentioned on my front cover, which is why I made a third draft of a front cover (see previous post). Comments are always welcome, let me know what could be changed and your thoughts:
Main Task - Front Cover Third Draft
This potentially is a third draft of my final front cover. Here I have changed some of the names of bands according to what is present on my contents page, and included a "+MORE!", to indicate that not only those bands are included, but even more! Again, please comment + criticise:

Main Task - Front Cover Second Draft
Along with the CD Cover, I managed to update my front cover to develop a second draft. I have moved around only a few pieces and / or changed some of them. For instance, I have reduced the size of the "Get your next issue FREE" feature, and moved it, along with rotating it. I have also taken off the price feature as this made the cover look too messy, and simply placed it above the title to make it less messy. I have moved the barcode up and reduced the size slightly, as it is not normally in many magazines right on the edge. Finally, I have inserted the finished single CD cover "Get Away", placing the border behind "Vikki Rose" and the cover slightly over it, which I feel is quite effective as it looks like an extra on the page for you to reach out and grab. However, I need criticism or comments, so please do so:
Main Task - CD Cover
I have potentially created a single cover with one of the first set of pictures I took of Vikki. However, I feel I could improve it by making her eye liner thicker, or even changing the picture. Feel free to comment + criticise:

Research - Contents Page
Here, I have proposed some research for the contents page of my music magazine.
NME:
Kerrang!:
Q:
After being inspired by these contents pages, I feel that I should include a band index in my magazine, which will attract audience to want to read about their favourite famous bands and artists. I see that these pages are filled with large pictures, so I am going to change this idea slightly which will make my magazine more unique, as I will make the writing slightly larger and reduce the size of the image, balancing it out. Some other features which I am interested in on these contents page, are information about swag and subscription to get the magazine "delivered" weekly, or monthly, depending on when the issue's are published. I feel that including information about a subscription will make the page more involved rather than being plain with only a picture, information and a band index.

Main Task - CD Cover ideas
I decided to make a single CD cover to use on the front page and / or in the contents / double page spread. For this, I did a bit of research:
Surprising as it is, many of these CD front covers don't actually have an image of the band or artist on the front, but include objects or scenary related to them. Lady Gaga however, for example is probably one of the most famous artists at the moment and includes a picture of her on the front of it, as well as Pixie Lott. I feel I would like to use the idea of these, adding effects to it. Here are some of my chosen photos to use for the front cove of the single:
I have chosen to include one of the pictures from the first set of photos which I took because it would look a bit strange that she looks exactly the same as in the magazine photos as on the front of the single cover. This also is a really interesting picture as she is not looking at the camera but above... Just as though we are sitting in the audience and she is posing on stage. A lot of effects will need to be added to this to make it look like a CD cover however.
