Right, so i had a little think about which genre of music to choose to make my music magazine. I chose between both a DJ'ing and a Rock magazine. I then had a little think of which titles which would suit these types of magazines. Here's a list, bold titles are the ones I like the most:
• Stand Up
• Universe
• Surge
• Strike
• Dissolve
• Reap
• Revenge
• Stand Up
• Strobe
• Laser
• Prevention
• Growth
• Infectious
• Bleach
• Skinless
• Dedication
• Sinergy
• Curb
• Day In Day Out / DIDO
• Universal Corner
• Whoa!
• Soul
• Cruze
• Beyond and Back / BB
• Knocked Out / KOed
• Straight Up
• Attraction
• Route 66
• Granted
• Society
• Influence
• Promise
• Holding On
• Memories
• Not the First
• Raining Up
• Feedback
• Pulse
• Forfeit
• Obsession
• Stole
• Intuition
• Fearless
At first, i was tempted to use Feedback as it sounded cool, and to my surprise, I found out that it also is a musically related term: Click here to see the definition. It sounded like it could be used for a DJ magazine. I was really confident about using this title for my magazine, that I began testing fonts out. Here are some of the ones I was really pleased with:
But it's not like you'd pick up a magazine called Feedback and consider reading it, as it doesnt sound like a very interesting and eye-catching title. I then thought that I should be testing out other titles and fonts and playing around with it until I came up with my final decision. So I looked at the title Pulse as it sounded like the power coming from an amplifier or something powerful related to music, but in the end I fancied a better title.
I finally picked my title Knocked Out, as I thought it could relate to the music magazine Kerrang. Knocked Out sounds like the kind of thing for a concert, bands or acts being Knocked Out of a competition or Knocked Out by another band being so much better than them. I think this would suit a magazine cover, and would be quite appealing to the eye.
